Chief Technical Officer
Kristen Wemer started at Flavorman in 2012 in the research and development lab, where she worked her way up to become the Director of R&D. In 2021 she became the Director of the newly-formed Technical Services group, which encompasses Flavorman’s R&D, regulatory and quality assurance services.
Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree in food science from the University of Kentucky. While attending the university, she held an internship at Kroger’s dairy processing plant in the quality lab, testing incoming raw milk. Her first job post-graduation was at Zentis Food Solutions NA, developing fruit preparations that go into yogurt with a focus on innovation (think: popcorn pieces and tapioca pearls). She also worked on Long John Silver’s innovation team at YUM! Brands in nutrition and sensory roles, with her claim-to-fame being creating the operations process for a national roll-out of onion rings.
