In the last episode of Inside the Bottle, I shared a client's story who found success through their journey at the Beverage Campus. It concluded with the client’s post-development phase of selecting a manufacturer for their products, with the help of Flavorman’s experts. But as I stated before, our company is committed to a Start Through Finish™ approach, so that is not where the story ended! In this episode, I am excited to continue recounting the client’s experience with Flavorman and their journey in the beverage industry!
The energy is high as the Flavorman team joins the client at their first production run, which we always offer clients to provide technical expertise and ensure efficiency. The first production run is imperative to your brand’s success. Therefore, Flavorman’s on-site assistance allows the manufacturer and client to ask questions and guarantee that specifications are followed.
Flavorman has a fully equipped Analytical Laboratory led by Dr. Mark Sprowl, a TTB-certified Analytical Chemist. After the client had sent their products to production, they noticed that a batch of their Margaritas had an “off taste.” So, we had them send samples to our Analytical Laboratory to be analyzed for inconsistencies, and the test results showed signs of contamination. Flavorman traced the source to their manufacturer and found that the blending tank was inadequately cleaned between projects. This resulted in leftover remnants of the previous batch tainting the flavor of our client’s products. The problem was corrected, and the Margarita was correctly reproduced. This process saved the client from a potential recall and the consumers from a drinking experience that was not up to par with their brand’s standards.
While the client was entering the production phase, we began our routine shelf-life studies on both pre- and post-production samples. This includes sensory evaluations, observing the formula at different temperatures, and studying the product over time. If our Quality Assurance Laboratory finds issues at any point, we can immediately recommend or enact changes for the client.
Our client has benefited tremendously from our consistent production support, even after completing the initial development work. Even today, we maintain a working relationship when the client wants to expand their product line or change their offerings.
